FAQ
Frequently asked questions about stone countertops, materials, and our services.
How often should natural stone countertops be sealed?
We recommend sealing your countertops about twice a year (every six months). You can purchase a sealer directly from us or contact us for guidance.
Can I cut directly on quartz countertops?
Quartz is highly durable, but we recommend always using a cutting board to protect the surface from scratches and maintain its finish.
What's the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz is engineered stone made from crushed quartz and resin, while quartzite is natural stone formed from sandstone under heat and pressure.
What's the difference between quartz and natural stone?
Quartz is man-made, crafted from natural quartz crystals mixed with resin, which makes it consistent and low-maintenance. Natural stones like granite, marble, or quartzite are formed in the earth, so every slab is unique in color and pattern, and it often requires periodic sealing.
How do I properly care for stone surfaces?
Clean with warm water and mild dish soap using a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals.
What is the typical turnaround time for a project?
For residential clients, the process from template creation to installation usually takes about three weeks. Timelines for other projects may vary depending on scope, material and customization.
Do you remove existing countertops?
While we don't typically remove existing countertops, we can provide removal services for an additional fee. The cost depends on the material and quantity being removed.
Do you sell sinks and accessories, or do I need to buy them elsewhere?
Yes, we do! We carry a wide variety of stainless-steel sinks, including Blanco sinks for kitchens and Porcelain sinks for vanities. We also sell high-quality sink grates, which help prevent scratches, make cleaning food debris and grease easier, and protect your sink so it stays looking brand new.
Do you install sinks and faucets?
We handle countertop installation and sink mounting only. Plumbing connections, including faucets and sink drains, must be completed by the client or a licensed plumber.
